Custom software · Stevenage, Hertfordshire · Working UK-wide
Most business systems fail quietly. The developer moves on, the notes were never written, and nobody left in the building can change the thing the company runs on. We build so that call never has to be made.
Our one standard
The handover is the product.
Written into every contract we sign, including the ones for a fortnight's work.
Every system we ship leaves with the architecture notes, the deployment runbook, the diagrams and the account access. If you replaced us next month, the team after us would be productive inside a week.
That is not generosity. It is the only honest test of whether the work was done properly, and it is why the firms who hired us in 2020 are still here.

What we build, and what it costs.
Select the lines that sound like your problem. They carry through to the enquiry form at the bottom of the page, so you never have to describe the job twice.
Every figure is a starting point, confirmed in writing after discovery. We invoice on agreed milestones, so there is no hourly meter running in the background.

The firm
Seven years spent inside other people's unfinished code.

- Base
- Stevenage, Hertfordshire
- Team
- Six, four of them writing code full time
- Clients
- 31 firms, from Aberdeen to Exeter
Telvu Limited began in March 2019 with two contractors and one client: a logistics operator on the edge of Stevenage whose despatch board was a whiteboard photographed twice a day.
The turn came in the spring of 2021. A manufacturing client asked us to take over a system built by a developer who had stopped answering the phone eleven months earlier. There was no documentation, no repository access and no list of what the thing connected to. Five weeks went on reading code we had not written, and the client discovered they had paid £40,000 for software they did not own a single line of.
We rewrote our own contract that month. Since then the client's name goes on the repository before the first commit, and no project is signed off until someone outside the team can deploy it from the notes alone. It has cost us a handful of jobs. It has also meant we have never had to ring a client to explain why nobody can pick up a system after us.
Today the work is split roughly two thirds new builds, one third rescue. Accountancy practices, plant hire, a private clinic in Hitchin, two national wholesalers.
You own the repository
Your organisation, your accounts, your domain registrar, from the first commit. We are contributors to your codebase, never the landlords of it.
We write it down
Architecture notes, runbooks and a handover document written on the assumption that we are not going to be here to answer the question.
We don't build marketing sites
No brochureware, no SEO packages, no reselling somebody else's platform with our name on the invoice. Ask us and we will point you at two firms in Hertfordshire who do it properly.
We turn work down
Six people can run four builds at once and no more. When we are full we say so and give you a real start date, instead of taking the deposit and going quiet.
Next step
Bring us the system nobody wants to touch.
A first call runs about twenty minutes and costs nothing. If we are the wrong firm for the job, we will say so on that call and tell you who is not.
